Jewelry Gift Ideas for Kids

Nov 27, 2012 7:44:53 PM

What do you buy for the child who has everything? This is a none-too-rare lament from Grandparents, Aunts, and family friends. These days babies have toys, books, teddies, gadgets and the latest tot-fashion even before they’re born. children have so many toys by the time they begin school by which time, parents and friends have already started buying the latest technology for their up-and-coming techno-nerds! Birthday gifts for little girls are veering away from the dolls, teddybears, toy prams and toy kitchens. Today’s little girls love a birthday gift of dvds, hand-held electronic games, Wii games, and computer games. Jewelry has always been popular and most little girls adore and treasure a jewelry gift. The perfect baby shower gift would be tiny piece of jewelry, even if the expected baby is known to be a boy. Suddenly boys are wearing cute little leather bracelets with a tiny silver charm in the shape of a train, an animal or insect, or a truck, and as tiny babies, tiny pins, attached to their little jackets. Baby shower gifts for little girls could be a pearl baby bracelet, or a tiny, simple gold or silver baby bracelet or bangle. Baby jewelry comes in many styles to suit the personality of the baby. Baby brooches pinned to matinee jackets or, in the Summer months, a baby anklet of gold or silver, given to gleam on a tiny, chubby ankle, makes a much loved and admired baby shower gift or newborn gift. Givers of baby jewelry know the gift will delight the baby’s mother, who naturally wants her baby to look his or her cutest at all times! Later, the perfect baby Christening gift or baptism gift could be an item of gold or silver, a rattle, a Christening cup or another piece of baby jewelry. A pearl necklace with silver cross, a charm bracelet with a cross or an angel or baby’s first pearl earrings or perhaps the tiny glow of baby’s birthstone earrings, or a silver ID baby bracelet, all are popular. Photographs of the day record the baby jewelry, to be admired in years to come by the child and her family. Jewelry for kids' birthday gifts will always be popular. Little girls love jewelry and a jewelry box to house the tiny baby and children’s bracelets, baby earrings, tiny girls’ necklaces and baby anklets, is another excellent idea for a children’s birthday gift. All little girls deserve to have special items to treasure and keep safe until they grow up when the idea is to gift them to their own children. As little girls grow, their love of jewelry doesn’t abate. For a special occasion, a reward or a birthday gift, a children’s charm bracelet can’t be beaten. From that day forward, a special silver charm or gold charm can be gifted to add to the child’s charm bracelet, to represent all the successes, the hobbies, the special people, the new babies in the family, the favourite sports, and the special loves of little girls. Eventually the girl’s charm bracelet becomes a jewelry book, telling the story of the important things in her life. Something to treasure for life.

Baby and Children's Jewelry

Nov 23, 2012 7:54:52 AM

There's something about the gift of baby jewelry or children's jewelry that means "more." There is the suggestion that the gift came from the heart, that much love went into the choosing of the item, and that the gift is special and will be loved and kept forever. Particularly baby jewelry. That first gift to the baby needs "significance." Perhaps that's why personalising a baby bracelet, by engraving or the addition of a birthstone etc. is so popular. We want to give a gift that will be treasured, even until the baby grows up. A gold or silver baby bangle, a little pearl necklace or other jewelry item, ticks all those boxes. For children, it's a matter of wanting to show your love to the little girl (or boy) in your life. She will know your gift is special the minute she lays eyes on it. It will stand out from the rest, that little children's necklace with crystals and pearls, the highly polished adjustable bangle, or a children's anklet - these are the things of girls' dreams and you know you're making her feel special.

Children Choosing Their Own Jewelry

Sep 5, 2012 8:35:33 AM

Children have been shopping with their mothers and grandmothers for a long time because it's recognised that children have their own sense of style and individuality. Going through the children's section of a department store, it's not rare to see a little girl searching the racks with her mother in tow, and finding just what she wants.

Until recently, this wasn't generally the case with children's jewelry. Mothers, Aunties, grandmothers, Godmothers, have been the main purchasers of jewelry for kids, and the gift given for a birthday, Christmas or other special occasion.

But now, it seems adults are encouraging children to choose their own unique piece of jewelry. Children certainly have their own ideas about what they like and it's not difficult for them to find the perfect children's bracelet or necklace when there is such an enormous range to choose from. Not so much in jewelry stores, where the selection can be limited, but online, a huge variety of styles of all kinds of kids' jewelry can be found.

Whether children like traditional, classic styles, something up-to-the-minute-modern, quirky, ethnic, or simple, whether it's a pair of children's earrings, or a cool, Summery anklet, all tastes, preferences and budgets are satisfied.

I can only imagine the thrill for a little girl, being sat in front of a computer with a massive variety of jewelry to choose from, all made especially for children, and being able to choose exactly what she wants!

Baby Jewelry is a great value gift

Aug 28, 2012 7:03:25 AM

Why has baby and children's jewelry become such a popular idea for gifts? Because, in our throw-away society, nobody throws out jewelry. Especially the first jewelry received by a baby in her first year or two. These items will become family keepsakes, or, will be passed on to younger siblings when they arrive, giving double or triple value. The clothing given in that first year can be worn for six months max, before it's outgrown and, by that stage, worn out. Therefore, it's disposed of once it's use has expired. Toys? Toys break, get lost and children tire of them, which decreases their value, eventually, to zero. Books are good value, they give pleasure and knowledge and the skill of reading, but many books are only ever read once. So we come back to jewelry. A baby bracelet purchased for a newborn will generally have an extension for growth, so that, despite this rapid growth stage, the bracelet can be worn for over a year, maybe 18 months. A baby bangle ditto, they are often expanding which increases their life. By the time these items have been outgrown, they are still in excellent condition and can be passed on to younger siblings or kept as a family keepsake for when baby has grown and has babies of her own. She will truly treasure the baby jewelry she was given and wore, as a baby. This adds enormous sentimental value to the gift.

Again, the value is increased because baby's portraits will show her wearing her special bracelet, her tiny baby necklace, or her jingly baby anklet, and nobody throws out baby portraits either! So these early gifts are never forgotten or discarded.

For these reasons, kids' jewelry makes a great value gift for our little ones.
