Did you know that turquoise and turqoise coloured jewelry is the hottest trend this Summer in the Northern Hemisphere?  Doesn't matter if it's turquoise cz stones, turquoise coloured leather, turquoise coloured crystals or beads, turquoise is all the rage!

For your modern miss, we have turquoise children's jewelry!  Our most divine children's bracelets which have genuine turquoise set into the most feminine sterling silver bracelet ever.  And for the quirkier child, we have our double row Tibetan silver children's bangle bracelet with man-made jade and turquoise beads.  

In our mothers' jewelry category, we have a pewter and reconstructed Turquoise bracelets.  These mothers' bracelets would be perfect for both day and night wear, casual or more formal events.  Divine!

One of our most frequently asked questions is "where does your baby and children's jewelry come from?"  Initially, this was easy to answer but over the years my growing list of suppliers hail from all around the world.  

We have sterling silver baby bracelets and children's charm bracelets from Italy.  We have both gold and silver children's bracelets from the UK, including some hand-made items.  We have two top-rated, premium silver jewelry manufacturers in Thailand.  We have some children's anklets from the US.  Some of our plated items are Australian made.  Recently we discovered a great silver jewelry designer in Taiwan with really innovative products.  Vietnam brought us my personal favourite expanding sterling silver children's bangle, a supplier who makes stunning jewellery, hard to beat.  From Spain we have gold baby and children's earrings and a gold children's charm bracelet.  

Over the years, we've weeded out the unreliable suppliers and at the present time, all of our suppliers are very valuable to us because they are reliable, provide great quality baby jewelry and children's jewelry and provide prompt service.  If we have a run on a particular item, we know they will do their best to get our re-order to us as quickly as possible.

At Baby Jewels, our fastest growing category is our baby and children's earrings category.  Moms and Grandmothers are our main customers here and whilst the traditional earrings remain popular, we have long taken note of the popularity of our "Critter Range."

By "critter," I guess we mean natural creatures.  We have kids' earrings featuring the following:  ladybugs, butterflies, dragonflies, bumblebees, honey bees, bears, cats, pengins, bunny rabbits, green turtles, snails, owls, Bambi fawns, Nemo fish, frogs, giraffes, starfish, dolphins, even elephants!

We have other baby and children's jewelry e.g. baby bracelets and children's bracelets, to match many of these earrings so if a child has a particular love of an animal, bird or insect, she can have a jewelry set.  We also have some baby and children's necklaces with pendants of some of these "critters."

Most of these earrings are in sterling silver, many are hand-enamelled in various colours pleasing to the eye of our kids.  Cute, chubby shapes that kids love.  Earrings that kids will fall in love with and want to wear every day.

As a grandmother, I know why I chose baby jewelry when each of my granddaughters were born but I have carried out a little survey, asking buyers what their motivation was, when they bought that little baby bracelet, baby charm or little girl's necklace etc.

I found that, besides having a love of purchasing nice things for their grandchildren, they chose baby jewelry or children's jewelry because they couldn't afford it for their own children.

Which is the exact same reason as mine!   I have always admired a delicate little bracelet on a chubby wrist and the lucky little girls who wear children's earrings, children's necklaces, little silver charm bracelets etc.  Babies and little girls look divine in a simple piece of jewelry.  Boys too, are now wearing boys' bracelets and they look great too!  But when I was a young mother, children's jewelry was an expense that wasn't affordable.  In those days, most children's bracelets and other children's jewelry, was made of gold and was very expensive.  Today, we rejoice in a huge choice of sterling silver baby and children's jewelry which is not only affordable, but has reached a very high level in design.  No longer are they small replicas of adult jewelry, they have a charm that suits babies and children and appeals to our children on their level.  

That's not to say gold baby bracelets are no longer available or popular.  They are, but these days with the masses of choice in sterling silver, baby jewelry is now affordable on all budgets.

At Baby Jewels, we find grandmothers are great buyers of baby and children's jewelry.  We love to indulge our children and grandchildren, even if it's only very occasionally and what better gift than an item that won't go out of fashion, can be worn for years, make our children feel special and can be kept safely for the next round of babies in the family?  And we know the kids will treasure it.

Baby Jewels has a Mothers' jewelry category and this comes into its own around this time of year.  It's not just for our mothers, but for all mothers, of all ages.  

We have jewelry of all kinds, charms, necklaces, bracelets and earrings and many can be matched up with baby and children's jewelry.  We have baby bracelets in the European style with matching bracelets for Moms.  We have children's bracelets with matching Moms' bracelets.  We have children's earrings which are eminently suited to their Moms as well.  

Matching mother/child jewelry has become very popular in recent years.  Watch this space, because we intend getting more.  A great idea for Christmas gifts, Mothers' Day gifts, gifts to celebrate a birth, and more.

When my granddaughters were born, I set out to find them a special piece of gold baby jewelry.  I had in mind a baby bracelet each, and because I wasn't online much in those days, I headed straight for the local jewelry shop.  

I was dismayed to find a very small selection of gold jewelry, a couple of styles of bracelets and some baby brooches.  Since matinee jackets had already gone out of fashion (more likely to see a newborn in a denim jacket!) I didn't want a brooch (though there does seem to be a revival in the popularity of baby brooches.)  So I was left with some rather expensive gold baby bracelets with lockets.  I bought them, and was happy with them, however, I had no idea what was available online:  a vast array of choice in both gold and silver baby jewelry.

These days, more often than not, a baby will be seen wearing silver, usually sterling silver.  This is because a)  price and b) there is a larger range if baby and children's jewelry to choose from than in gold.  9ct gold remains affordable and the selection of styles is improving.  Today we can buy 9ct or 14ct gold baby bracelets, baby necklaces and children's rings which are matched with enamelling, crystals, cz stones and even gemstones for babies.  

My intention was always to add gold jewelry to Baby Jewels.  However, there remained the problem of cost.  Would people buy gold, when silver is so affordable?  Well, at last I have a handful of gold items at Baby Jewels, mainly baby bracelets, but also children's bracelets and baby and children's earrings.  All divine and because they are 9ct, quite affordable.  

My first baby bracelet order arrived and all bar one has sold, more are on their way.  I am happy to discover that gold is still very popular despite a strong fashion trend towards sterling silver.  Since then, I have had another order of bracelets and earrings have arrived and more are coming in the near future.  

I can remember as a child, longing for a nice bracelet, and in the absence of one, wearing lace, cord, ribbon or even string wrapped several times around my wrist and tied in a knot or bow - and believing it was a bracelet.  In those days, children's bracelets consisted mainly of gold or silver, so it was a stretch of the imagination.  Now though, kids' bracelets are made out of all sorts of things, as are children's necklaces.  Some of my suppliers are placing charms on waxed ribbon and I have to say, they do look gorgeous.  We're opening our minds when it comes to children's jewelry!  

Currently we have gold, silver, pearls, cord and woven leather bracelets for children.  They all sell well and are perfect for differing occasions, casual or formal.

We've recently introduced a new category on our baby and children's jewelry website:  leather.

Only bracelets at this stage, this category features woven leather bracelets in black, white, khaki, yellow and pink.  Some of these baby bracelets and children's bracelets have charms, or a single pearl attached, some don't.  But all have a generous extension for growth, making them not only affordable, but great value for long term wear.

Boys' leather bracelets?  Yes, definitely, we have them in all three sizes (babies, small children and older children) with and without charms.  So far we've had good feedback about these boys bracelets.

Depending on how well these leather items sell, we may introduce thong-style children's necklaces, which we think might be popular especially with teens.  Let us know what you think!

For some time now, we've had a range of jewelry in sizes to fit both mothers and their daughters, whether their daughters are babies, young girls or teenagers.  

More and more, we are seeing the purchase of two sizes in the same item, as in mother/daughter gifts.  Often at Christmas time but more often at the birth of a baby girl.

For example, our European style sterling silver/real lampwork bracelets come in baby sizes as well as mother sizes, in three different colour combinations.  

We also have children's bracelets in children's sizes, but also in adult sizes for mothers.  

We have lots of items suitable for both teens and mothers, in bracelets, necklaces and earrings.  Bought together for a mother and teenage daughter, the gift acknowledges or perhaps even reinforces the bond between a mother and her almost adult daughter.

As this trend is becoming more and more popular, we are on the lookout for matching jewelry items and hope to go into this Christmas with an even bigger range of mother/daughter jewelry.  

We had a run on stock leading up to Christmas and we spent a lot of time scouring the world wide web for new suppliers and new products.  This week we've had new stock arriving daily and it's been incredibly exciting for us, because everything ordered has been just beautiful.  We are thrilled to have some new lines and can't wait to show our customers.
