Modern styles of baby and children's jewelry are extremely popular.  Often these styles are very simple.  A plain baby bangle with a single charm, a plain box chain with a simple pendant.  The use of enamelling for colour and brightness for little people.

But traditional styles still have their place.  I did a survey not long ago and asked which style parents preferred for their baby.  Overwhelmingly they said "traditional."  This surprised me because the modern styles sell more readily.  This showed me that we need more traditional baby bracelets, baby brooches and baby necklaces.  

Not long afterwards we purchased a bunch of traditional baby bangles and bracelets which have proven very popular, according to feedback.  But our best feedback comes from a slower selling line, the gemstone bracelets for babies and small children.  These, we found are being purchased for boy babies as often for girls, which surprised me - but I take note.  Bracelets and bangles for boys are now quite popular.  People simply love the baby garnet bracelets, the lapis, the amethyst and the turquoise.  

They love that these beautifully made baby jewelry items will become family keepsakes.  Once outgrown, they'll be put away for the next family baby or the next generation.  Which shows me that even in this busy, throwaway society, people crave a bit of tradition, a bit of formality, something to pass on to the next generation.  

All parents want professional keepsake photography of their babies and children and the different styles of children's photography are endless.  The cute, the sweet and innocent, the "out there"...there are some great ideas.  Why not complement the style of photograph you have in mind with a piece of jewelry for your baby or children to wear, that will forever be on show in the portrait.  A shiny gold or silver bracelet is the obvious choice, but a gold or silver earring can add a special sparkle to the photo.  Or a colourful ladybug earring or a Pandora-style bracelet in a blue to match the eyes. When a moment is captured forever, it's worth using your imagination to create something unique and special.
